X Games 16

Video Feed:

X Games 16 kicks off July 29 and there's a new medal event in skate that adds some edge and fan participation to the comp: Real Street.

Twelve of the top individual pros in street skating have filmed 60-second video parts on street terrain for X Games. ESPN has dropped two parts a week for the last six weeks. They break it down like this: "Beginning July 25, you'll have one week to vote for the fan favorite (the winner gets $2,500). Then, on Aug. 1, the fan favorite will be announced and all 12 video parts will air on the final day of the X Games 16 telecast. A panel of pros -- Pat Duffy, Ed Templeton, Jamie Thomas and Geoff Rowley -- will choose the winning part and award the skater $50,000 and an X Games gold medal. Read up on who's involved and keep it tuned to xgames.com/realstreet for videos and interviews with each skateboarder competing."
