Name: Dana Allen
Hometown: Penobscot, Maine, bud!
Where you live currently: Waterbury 'It Really Is the Center of" Vermont!
Most stoke-filled moment in your life to date: Marrying Louise Lintilhac (and then honeymoon bike-shredding Switzerland with her)
What role does adventure play in your life? I get out of bed and start organizing my daily life around adventure, whether it's just a morning skinner lap up the resort, or planning a trip months away to go somewhere cool. It's my primary motivating force.
Where do you go/what do you do to spark creativity? I go outside and stop thinking about being creative - I just do stuff. That's when the best ideas come - unbidden, unforced. Blank time is the most productive time, usually.
Who are the three most influential people in your life? Louise Lintilhac (my super-special lady friend), my pops who taught me to do what you want and need to do without worrying too much about what other people think about it, and Jack Kerouac, who inspired me to get the hell out of Maine and see what else was out there.
Who is The Best Skier On The Mountain? The guy in jeans. Always.
What’s the strangest thing you’ve ever taken a photo of? Hmmm - probably shouldn't say. It wasn't porn. But it wasn't PG-13 either.
What's your favorite thing about Vermont? The concentration of good recreation opportunities within a short drive of my house, coupled with the number of truly great food and beer options that are usually right next to said recreational opportunities.
If you could travel to one place above all others, where would you go? Fjordland National Park in New Zealand. I've got some ideas of things to do down there that would leave me stoked for a lifetime.
Alright, there you go, me in a nutshell. Like Austin Powers would say, "Help, help, get me out of this nutshell!"
